TOMS RIVER, N.J. (CBSNewYork) – Nighttime is fright time for a Toms River couple who claim the house they rented is haunted.

Jose Chinchilla and his fiancée Michele Callan say they hear eerie noises, that lights flicker, doors slam and a spectral presence tugs on their bed sheets.

Chinchilla and Callan are suing the landlord for their $2,250 security deposit claiming the paranormal activity forced them out of the home only a week after moving in.

I almost just wanted to title this “Is Chinchilla The Most Stereotypical Last Name Ever?” and just concentrate on that the whole time but there’s a more serious issue at hand.  Ghosts.  There is literally nothing more terrifying, than ghosts walking around your house.  Ever try to fall asleep after watching a movie like paranormal activity and just wondering if something is going to grab you once your eyes are closed?  Well times that by a thousand and that will give you an idea of how Mr. Chinchilla felt every night for a week.

Seriously though, a $2,250 security deposit?  That’s it?  This is America!  You sue for pain and suffering, loss of sleep, AND the security deposit.  Get with the program Jose Chinchilla.

P.S. You think Michele will change her last name when they get married?  Callan to Chinchilla?  They should form a injury law firm.  The firm of Callan and Chinchilla.  Clients would be flooding in.

P.P.S. If you’ve heard of a more hilarious last name, I need to know it, now.
