CTV – Violence erupted in the streets of Montreal Wednesday night after talks broke down between student groups and the Quebec government, leading to 85 arrests and shattered windows.

Several police officers were also injured in the riot that left the city stunned Thursday.

Banks and other businesses, cars, even a police station had their windows shattered by an angry mob that spilled out from a larger crowd of thousands of student protesters. The violence followed a breakdown in talks between the two parties to end an 11-week fight over tuition hikes.

Although pressure is mounting on the Liberal government of Premier Jean Charest to back down from the planned $375-per-year tuition hike, it appears less likely as the party rises in the polls, raising the possibility of a snap spring election.

Canadians huh?  Waaaaaah Waaaaah my tuition is going to go up $375 Waaaaaahhhhh.  You have any idea wwhat my tuition was per year? $30k WITH scholarships.  I have student loans coming out my ass, but do you see me crying about it, no.  You know why?  Because this is america and capitalism is king.  That’s what happens when you start giving shit away for free.  Start asking for a little bit and the whole world comes to an end.  Canadian kids today, am I right?

They can’t even protest correctly.  Strike #1 – I can’t understand a word you’re saying.  Maybe that $375 can go towards english lessons.  Strike #2 – They’re Canadian.  Strike #3 – Jason masks do not say “I’m here to negotiate.”

P.S. You have to check out the badass Canadian cop at the 1:16 mark.  Guarantee he’s the Farva of his squad.
