Chicago – After an all-day negotiating session Sunday, school board President David Vitale told reporters the district had changed its proposal 20 times over the course of talks and didn’t have much more to offer.

“This is about as much as we can do,” Vitale said. “There is only so much money in the system.”

The district said it offered teachers a 16 percent pay raise over four years and a host of benefit proposals.

Apparently the teachers are doing such a good job in the most violent city in America, they need more than a 16% raise.  I have two problems with this.

ONE, YOU’RE A TEACHER.  You knew what you signed up for when you became one.  If you weren’t aware that teachers get shitty pay for dealing with miscreant rats then you’re too stupid to be a teacher in the first place.

TWO, is Karen Lewis really the person you want speaking for you?  I have a HUGE problem with her and I’m not talking about her waist size.  This chick looks like she hasn’t missed a meal in a long time.  You certainly aren’t making the case for hardship when your representative looks like a fat sultan.
